Private Garden Tours

Book a private garden tour and explore York Museum Gardens with a member of our Garden’s Team.

Availability

Tours are available Tuesday through Friday between 10 am and 3 pm for groups of 10 and above.

To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking your tour a minimum of six weeks in advance.

Your tour will be a bespoke experience with a variety of topics available.

Price

Tours are priced at £10 per head which helps us support the work of and preserve York Museum Gardens.

We also offer one free group leader per tour.

Payment will be taken in advance via invoice.

Travel and Parking

York Museum Gardens are accessible by train and by bus.

It takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the York Museum Gardens from York Railway Station. Yorkshire Museum and Gardens are next to Lendal Bridge, the main river bridge between York Railway Station and York Minster.

For those wanting to travel by car or coach, the nearest coach parking Union Terrace Car Park. Coaches can also drop off and pick up passengers at designated rendezvous points. You can find more information on the City of York Council website.

Accessibility

Your tour will take place outdoors in a variety of weather so please ensure your group are dressed appropriately for the day.

While some areas of York Museum Gardens are not fully accessible, tours can be adjusted to suit a range of accessibility needs. Your Garden Guide will be there to help on the day and can answer any questions you may have.
